pre-berlinale post

There’s not so much that I’m interested in doing at this stage of the game. I wouldn’t mind sleeping through the night but I’m already pretty used to not doing that.

Recently I was reminded that Berlinale is coming soon and sitting and staring at a screen is something that I can do! The trigger was an e-mail about a movie called "Shotgun Stories" that is premiering at Berlinale. It was filmed in Arkansas and I’m gleaning that maybe the Nichols family is coming to Berlin to support their son so… hope they have a grand time. (This is not an endorsement since I don’t really know what it’s about. Shotguns, probably?) The point is February is just around the corner. Hard to believe…especially since I haven’t worn a winter coat yet.

Some pre-Berlinale links:

The jury (ooh Gael GarcĂa Bernal)
Eat, Drink, See – Culinary cinema at the festival (this sounds completely bizarre and fun)
The not-so-great posters
The venues
and Tips (from last year) on Berlinale etiquette
Parties… well since I can’t go to any, neither should you

Berlinale runs this year from 8-18 February 2007. The program is usually available online starting the first of February.

Hey, don’t forget Der rote ELvis (The Red Elvis), the life and death of Dean Reed, socialisms biggest superstar, which is based on my first book with the same name.

It got chosen for the “Panorama”, yiha!
