lonely planet didn’t really have much in the to do section for milan. i still had fun with french folk that came down to visit a long lost friend. we ate a lot. we went food shopping a lot. we went window shopping on sunday. we braved a crazy wind storm at the Como lake. we went clubbing at old fashion cafe and laughed at (old) fashion victims. the dj was spinning (old) east coast classics. on the last morning, we walked up to the top of the duomo church and wandered in between gargoyles. from the bus to the airport, i saw signs with bold letters: turchia in europa? non! from the liga nord. i left wishing i lived somewhere with more sun. but maybe not milan. in any case, my italian improved. i can now say i would like an ashtray next to the apples and i’d like to find my soul mate. not bad for just 3 days.
